Luxembourg

21 May 2013

After two months of ideal weather in Iraq and Africa,
my weather luck ran out in lovely little Luxembourg.

It was rainy, dreary, and cold, very cold.
Alas, much of a travel experience depends on the weather.

Tiny Luxembourg's half million people are usually counted as wealthiest of any country in Europe, and the prosperity shows in every kilometer.

While smaller than Rhode Island, Luxembourg is still four times larger than Andorra. So is Luxembourg the largest of the European "microstates" or the smallest of Europe's "nonmicro" countries? No consensus, but it is not always included in lists of microstates.

The National Museum of History and Art is the premier museum here and was especially appreciated on a wet, chilly day.

The gorges that cut through the middle of Luxembourg City make some beautiful panoramas.
